R.E.A.L. MONEY: “Get Rich…Don’t Die Trying”

Get Rich Session w logo 5Good Life Youth Foundation (GLYF) and AXA teamed up for a successful and informative financial literacy workshop for youth entitled “Get Rich… But Don’t Die Trying”. The seminar focused on the basics of financial literacy. The subjects covered were:

  • Income and wealth gaps in America (based on race)
  • Where did my money go? Gross vs. Net – Understanding your paycheck stub
  • The Rule of 72 – the Power of Compounding Interest
  • $2 Per day or 1 Pizza a week equals what? Realizing spending habits
  • Don’t let an Opportunity pass you by – Savers Credit, Scholarships & OPFC

GLYF Partners w/ AXA to Bring Youth Out of Poverty

FlyerJune6“Get Rich and Don’t Die Trying: R.E.A.L. Money Asset Building & Financial Literacy Workshop”

What: The Good Life Philanthropic Youth Foundation will be partnering with AXA on Saturday, June 6th from 12pm-2pm to inspire urban youth  to save and manage their finances.  The workshop will focus on ways to escape poverty and begin building assets and improve personal finances. It’s part of the R.E.A.L. Money Asset Building & Financial Literacy 6 Module series that introduces concepts of financial management, with a particular focus on the urban cultures and the misconceptions within those cultures, that perpetuate poverty. Each module will take place in alternate months throughout the year to coincide with the Entrepreneurship workshops.  Good Life Foundation is reaching out to encourage parents and kids to start thinking about the future and most importantly their wallets, now, versus later.
